Master the Foundation of Straddle-Overs
The straddle-overs test core strength and coordination. So, begin by standing with both feet shoulder-width apart, facing the silks. Now, reach both arms up and grip the silks overhead, palms facing away. Keep the core engaged and lift the body using the arms and legs to pull yourself into the silks.
Once in a straddle position, with both legs spread wide, focus on keeping the core tight and back straight. Transition to the “over” by initiating a kick with the legs, pushing them straight over your head and towards the silks. Keep the hips high and hold the straddle-over position briefly to feel the strength and control required before exiting.
