Test Your Balance With the Ankle Hang
The ankle hang may seem daunting at first, but with practice, you’ll be hanging comfortably and confidently. Here’s how to achieve it. Climb high and secure a single footlockâfigure-eight or eggbeater wraps should work fine. Lower into a deep split, keeping the legs straight and core engaged.
Flex the foot you’re not hanging from and bring the pole of the fabric across the top of the foot towards the baby toe. Wrap the tail of the fabric around the ankle 2-3 times for a secure hold, and that’s it! This versatile move serves as a foundation for other aerial silk transitions, practice a lot!
