Stars and Stripes: Everyone Should Be Respectful
Is it the Fourth of July? This couple certainly thinks so! They’re screaming patriotism from head to toe with their American flag-themed caps, polos, and shorts. Their festive spirit even inspired someone nearby to put their hand on their chest in respect—well, maybe!
The history of the American flag is rich and symbolic. The first official flag, the Betsy Ross flag, was adopted on June 14, 1777. It featured 13 stars and stripes, representing the original colonies. Over time, as new states joined the union, stars were added. The current design, with 50 stars and 13 stripes, was adopted on July 4, 1960.
