A Terrified Baby Moose

“The first sight of her was heartbreaking,” Plucas told The Dodo. “She was starved, dirty, sad, her fur was infested with flies, and she was so terrified of me when she first saw me, but was too weak to run away, to even get up.” Heartbreakingly, the farmer had seen these types of calf before. They often end up in this condition if their mother dies, usually from hunters.

While the poor baby moose clearly felt terrified, Plucas knew he had to get even closer to save her life before it was too late. After all, predators would have an easy time with her in this state. So, while Plucas had no idea how, he knew he at least had to do something to help this poor moose in need.
