A New Challenge Arises
At the tail end of their trip, Ashcraft and Sharp docked in Tahiti, where they met up with an old friend. Over drinks, the friend offered them a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity: he wanted them to sail and deliver a luxury yacht, the Hazaña, from Tahiti to its new owner in San Diego. While this seemed like quite a challenge for the 23-year-old and her fiancé, they felt ready to take it on.
Even though the trip would last over 5,000 miles, both Ashcraft and Sharp had sailed on many long voyages before. Hopefully, the waters would be kind to them, and they would deliver the boat without any hurdles. Unfortunately, that’s not exactly how things happened…
