Vanilla Sky: The Shifty Nightgown

There’s so much going on in the strange sci-fi film Vanilla Skye that viewers likely never noticed it contains quite the wardrobe malfunction. Starring Tom Cruise, Penélope Cruz, Kurt Russell, and Cameron Diaz, the film divided viewers. In one of the most infamous scenes in the movie, Cruise’s character captures Cameron Diaz’s Julianna, his onetime lover, and straps her to the bed.

Diaz, wearing a sheer dress, attempts to flip herself over on the mattress, and in doing so, accidentally shifts the top of the garment out of place. For a quick moment, viewers see more than intended before Diaz quickly pulling the nightgown into its original position. Still, the chest-exposing take wound up in the final cut!
