The Color Purple: The Clip-On Tie

For those not in the know, The Color Purple is an adaptation of Alice Walker’s 1983 book of the same name. The film, starring Danny Glover, tells the story of African American women in the south at the beginning of the 20th century. While the movie is critically acclaimed, it doesn’t mean that it’s perfect.
At one point in the story, Danny Glover who portrays Albert clips on his tie, causing a wardrobe malfunction. Why you ask? Well, it turns out that that fashion accessory wasn’t invented until 12 years later after the movie chronologically.
