The Other Boleyn Girl: Hair Down

When The Other Boleyn Girl debuted in theaters in 2008, historians ripped it apart for its historical inaccuracies. Out of all of them, this is the one they probably found the least offensive. After all, actress Natalie Portman looks exquisite in her French hood and with her hair down. However, this would have been considered quite scandalous and rebellious for the time!
During the 1500s, when the film is set, women would wear hoods, but always with their hair up. Still, given that large parts of The Other Boleyn Girl were wholly fabricated, we doubt historians cared much about the wardrobe malfunctions.
