Back on the Job

Once the villagers, and all the chaos they brought with them, were out of the way, the mother elephant carefully made her way back to the hole. She paused to look it over, picking up on the fact that something was different while she’d been off refueling with her banana buffet. Still, whatever had changed didn’t seem to rattle her.

Recharged and more focused than ever, she got right back to work trying to free her baby. It did seem a bit easier this time, but she probably just credited that to a solid break and a full stomach. Either way, she threw herself back into the rescue with fresh energy. The villagers could only stare as this determined mom kept at it, powered by one simple, unstoppable goal, getting her calf out.
