Jitendra’s Bold Idea

With the elephant busy chomping away, Jitendra and his nosy little crew finally had their window to check out the hole. The only problem, did they have the guts to go for it? Even distracted, an elephant is still an elephant, and one wrong move could get ugly fast. They crept toward the hole anyway. Jitendra knew they couldn’t all charge in together, so he sent them in batches.

The first group inched forward on quiet feet, doing everything they could not to startle the big cow. When they reached the edge, they leaned in and looked down. What they saw was flat-out unbelievable, and definitely not what anyone expected. Everyone froze, then sucked in a breath, suddenly desperate to know what could have made the elephant dig like her life depended on it.
