When the Digging Finally Took Her Down

Eventually, the elephant hit her breaking point. After all that nonstop digging, she just crumpled from pure exhaustion. Maybe it was the heat, maybe she was simply spent, nobody really knew, but there she was, stretched out on the ground.

Then, because she’s apparently made of steel, she hauled herself back up like it was nothing and looked ready to start digging all over again. That’s when she finally clocked the snack spread around her. Suddenly remembering she was starving, she started chomping on the food the villagers had set out to lure her away from the hole. Finally, the plan was actually working. The crowd watched, relieved, as she ate, quietly hoping this would put an end to her digging obsession.
