Living In Ukraine

While Lukyanova had a normal childhood, she certainly did not come from a privileged family. Quite the opposite, in fact. Her parents needed to work hard and often to support their family. Her dad, Valery, had two very different jobs: a construction worker by day and a DJ by night. Meanwhile, her mom, Irina, seen above, served in the Ukrainian Army. Sadly, this meant that the little girl rarely saw her parents. Still, Lukyanova says she always felt loved and cared for – as long as she had her dolls.

Even today, Irina and Valery say they never noticed anything strange with the way Lukyanova played with her polls. But that would soon change…
