When people see how Valeria Lukyanova looks today, they assume she must have had a horrible childhood. But that’s not the truth! As a matter of fact, she enjoyed a normal childhood while growing up in the Eastern European country of Ukraine. As a little girl, like many others, she loved playing with Barbie dolls. However, her parents could never have predicted what the dolls would eventually lead to.

While playing with her Barbie dolls and marrying them off to action figures, Lukyanova became quite obsessed with the symmetrical proportions of her toys. This fascination would follow Lukyanova into her adult life…
