A Kaleidoscope of Carpets
Mehmet Aslan’s “Carpet Field” captures an incredible scene—a field covered in handwoven Turkish rugs that stretch as far as the eye can see. After being washed, these rugs are laid out to dry, and from above, they create a stunning patchwork of patterns and colors.
The photo was awarded a “Highly Commended” spot in the Drone Awards People Category for its unique perspective on a centuries-old tradition. Turkish rugs are famous for their intricate designs and durability, each taking months to handcraft. Many of these rugs come from the Anatolian region, known for its skilled weavers who pass down the craft through generations.
