Character: Barry Kripke

Barry Kripke is a Caltech (physics) plasma-turned-string-theorist and colleague of Sheldon and Leonard. Not only that, but he’s actually Sheldon’s arch-enemy! You see, he’s always putting Sheldon down and trying to pull a fast one on him. What’s more, he has a case of rhotacism, where he pronounces “r” and “I” as “w,” just like Elmer Fudd in Looney Tunes.

Throughout the series, Kripke actually manages to become friends with Raj, Leonard, Amy, and Howard. Meanwhile, he has had an on-and-off platonic relationship with Sheldon Cooper. In fact, one time Sheldon attempted to befriend Kripke in order to gain access to an open science grid computer to carry out research. However, Sheldon’s efforts were helpless!
