The Airplane Graveyard

Mueller decided to compile and publish all the images of the forgotten American WWII airplanes in a book, entitled The Airplane Graveyard: The Forgotten WWII Warbirds of Kwajalein Atoll. With this book, readers can discover the stories of these historic aircraft, their role in the Pacific Theater of World War II, and more about how they ended up at the bottom of the ocean.

Mueller takes you below the ocean’s surface to discover the forgotten remains of Douglas SBD Dauntless, Vought F4U Corsair, Curtiss SB2C Helldiver, C-46 Commando, among others. “Maybe the ocean has something to tell us about war,” Mueller said.
