War Cost

As you hear on the news all the time, war is an extremely costly endeavor.  Back in 1945, the United States had spent about $347 billion throughout World War II, which would be worth ten times that in today’s money! So, dumping the planes in the middle of the ocean seemed like a massive spit in the face of the taxpayers. Its no wonder the government kept the location secret for as long as they could.

Still, now that Brandi Mueller has found the Airplane Graveyard, things could seriously change for the Marshall Islands. After she publicized the Airplane Graveyard, it has become quite the tourist attraction, bringing in much-needed money to the area. The local wildlife, which have made the planes their home, also bring in the tourists!
