A Little Disagreement
A battle of wits and ethics broke out between Tony and the officials of Raymond J. Fisher Middle School in Los Gatos, California. No matter how much sense Tony made, though, he could not seem to convince the school officials. “I asked Demetra to bend over and touch her toes, right in front of the administrator,” Tony said in an interview with the Today Show. “And I said, ‘Nothing is hanging out. There’s nothing inappropriate. I don’t understand this dress code rule.'”
Obviously, Tony and the school official had completely different opinions on what “inappropriate” meant. Even worse, the school was doing an abysmal job of explaining just what they found so outrageous about Demetra’s choice of clothes.
