Succeeding By Herself

Plucas knew that for Emma to succeed by herself, she would need to learn right from wrong. In the animal, respect, at least. So beginning with food, he slowly taught her what she needed to know. Plucas taught her how to climb hills and what predators to avoid. Of course, nature and instincts did a lot of the work. But without Plucas, Emma would have never survived or even had a chance of making it on her own.
While Plucas would prefer for Emma to safely stay with him, the farmer knew that wasn’t the right thing to do. Ultimately, he wanted her to go back to her home: the wild forest.
