Not Enough

Horribly, as Ashcraft and Sharp would soon discover, their change of route would not outrun the storm. On October 12, just three weeks into their trip, disaster struck. That evening, the couple sailed right into the storm, which had grown into a category four hurricane, Hurricane Raymond.

To make matters even worse, the storm seemed to appear out of nowhere, taking Ashcraft and her fiancee by complete surprise. They had no other option but to try and weather the storm. Outside, 40-foot waves and 140-mile-per-hour winds descended on the tiny vessel. From there, things only got worse and worse…
