For weeks upon weeks, Lukasik had no idea. Her days felt empty, and she simply looked over the documents again and again, thinking that it all must be some kind of strange prank. It did not seem possible that she had lived with a web of lies, spun by her mother, her entire life. There must be a reasonable explanation, Luksik thought.

Sadly, as the days and weeks passed, Lukasik did not feel any better. She only continued to feel heartbroken, confused, and cheated.
