Shocked to Her Core

On the phone with the State of Louisiana once again, Gail Lukasik received one of the biggest shocks of her life. As it turns out, the letters “COL” were a previously used abbreviation for “person of color.” As hard as she tried, Lukasik couldn’t make any sense out of the information. You see, her entire family, including her mother, was Caucasian!

While Lukasik simply could not believe that her mother was a person of color, she could not deny what clearly stated on her birth certificate. Meanwhile, everything started to add up in her head: Rita’s makeup, her reluctance to talk about her family, everything.
