The Little Mermaid (1989) – Not Quite Disney’s Style

Didn’t think a cartoon would make it onto the list of the most paused moments in movie history? Think again! Anyone who grew up in the ’90s, or raised a child then, will surely remember The Little Mermaid and her quest to earn back her voice. However, if you didn’t pause the movie at the right moment, you might have missed something.

According to some parents, in the scene where Ariel receives her legs, animators went way too far. While Disney has always denied the claims, the company did cut that scene a little short for future releases. But those with original VHS copies can still see the moment in question!
