America’s Got Talent – Fake

Based on the U.K. hit Britain’s Got Talent, America’s Got Talent combines a talent show with an American Idol-like reality TV show. Each season of the show, hundreds of comedians, magicians, dancers, and lots and lots of musicians compete for a chance to headline in Las Vegas and a one million dollar payday. It seems great, right?
Well, sadly, “payday” is not exactly the right word. Instead, as Forbes Magazine revealed, the America’s Got Talent prize is actually paid out as a “40-year long annuity,” at roughly 25,000 a year. Forbes also revealed that winners could take a lower lump sum payment of around $300,000, before taxes of course, and still get to headline in Las Vegas.
