In case you didn’t know, the Deadliest Catch, is one of the biggest shows on the Discovery Channel. The hit reality tv show follows the lives of fishermen in the Bering Sea, a perilous part of the ocean. Terrifying weather, massive waves, and equipment malfunctions can even lead to death, meaning these sailors live in constant danger. Or do they?

Yes, Deadliest Catch is real! There’s no denying it, catching crab off Alaska is no easy task! But, believe it or not, the show does not even cover the most dangerous type of crab fishing. The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health lists crab fishing off the east coast of the United States as the first deadliest, followed by crab fishing off the Oregon coast. Maybe it’s time for a change of location?
