Bono and Ali Hewson

Very few celebrities meet in high school or college and remain together. However, even fewer meet as young children! But, believe it or not, U2 frontman Bono and his wife Ali Hewson met when they were just 12-years-old! Still, it took years for the singer to win over the young girl’s heart, and they did not start dating until high school. Now, though, Bono and Hewson have been married for over three decades!

The secret to a 30-year marriage? “We feel the red carpet has kept us close,” Bono said recently.” If things are going around, we say, ‘Let’s do the red carpet, certainly.’ It’s just been a great ride, a magic carpet ride…And she just repeated what she’s been telling me since we were teenagers, which is, ‘Don’t look down at me but don’t look up at me either. Look across to me. I’m here.'”
