Mariano and Clara Rivera

Famed Yankees player Mariano Rivera met his wife Clara while in elementary school, and, incredibly, they have stayed linked ever since. The two wed in their home country of Panama in 1991, where they lived until 2000. However, since welcoming their three children, Mariano III, Jafet, and Jaziel (seen above), Mariano and Clara have spent more and more time here in the United States.
Currently, Mariano and Clara enjoy a happy life in Rye, New York, and work hard in the community. In 2014, Mariano bought an abandoned church building in New Rochelle so that his wife, a Pentecostal minister, could expand her congregation. Mariano’s foundation then poured $3 million in restoring the 107-year-old church!
