Laura Dern and Ben Harper

The marriage between actress Laura Dern and singer Ben Harper lasted quite a bit longer than many Hollywood romances. However, for us ordinary folk, it still seems pretty short! The two met in 2000 after Dern attended one of Harper’s concerts. They married a few years later, in 2005.

For many years, it seemed like Dern and Harper were as happy as could be. But then, nearly a decade later, in 2013, the two separated. They have two children together, son Ellery Walker and daughter Jaya. While Dern remains single today, Harper recently married his third wife, social advocate Jaclyn Matthus.
