Sometimes, as much as they try to deny it, there’s a connection between boss and worker. Director Sam Mendes and actress Kate Winslet certainly felt something when they worked on a 2001 play at a play at the Donmar Warehouse, where Mendes also works as a director. Then, after two years of dating, the pair made it official! “We thought it was rather a good idea, so we just did it,” Winslet said in an interview.

Unfortunately, after seven years, the marriage no longer seemed like a good idea. So, in 2011, Winsley and Mendes separated. “The split is entirely amicable and is by mutual agreement,” the former couple said in a joint statement. “Both parties are fully committed to the future joint parenting of their children.”
