Pirate of the Caribbean (The Curse of the Black Pearl): Red Coast Didn’t Exist

British soldiers are famously known for using red coats, and to be completely honest, it’s hard to picture them without it. Here we have a little back to the future moment with Pirate of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl. In this scene, you can see them wearing them proudly, or if you judge by their face, fearfully. However, there’s a wardrobe malfunction going on here.
The soldiers that are seen wearing red coast, are actually wearing them to represent the British Empire. However, these uniforms were not issued until 1747, while the film is set sometime around the 1720s. So, it’s safe to say that these British soldiers are real fashion trend forecasters.
