The Untouchables: Suit with Lapels

The Untouchables is a film that follows the prohibition era during the 20s and 30s, which shows Al Capone controlled Chicago from the shadows because of how powerful he became thanks to the illegal liquor he sold. So many legendary actors in one film and no one noticed that costume mistake?
In the 1987 film, Kevin Costner, who portrays Eliott Ness, wears a suit that has lapels. The movie generally gets every detail right, except for that one wardrobe malfunction. You see, the problem is that those were actually made much later and clearly don’t reflect the period of time the movie is set in. Fortunately, this mishap didn’t take away from the film’s massive success.
