Famous Horseshoe Falls

While the erosion had been slowed, the engineers were not done yet! They came up with another way to boost tourism, hoping to make up for the loss caused by the rocks, debris, and erosion.
They decided to create an illusion, with the goal of creating the “impression of volume” with an uninterrupted “curtain of water.” To do so, they reduced the crest of the waterfall, added a V-shaped crest, and changed the riverbed so that the same amount of water went over, but it looked better than ever! However, as always, there were some disappointed with the decision. It meant that Niagara Falls would never look the way it once did.
