Specifically, the diving team decided to do dive into the cold to study the many variations of sea stars that call the area home. With a sizeable group, the researchers hoped to shed light on their interesting behavior patterns, and even capture a few to study back in the school’s labs.
Soon enough, the divers were in the freezing cold water, counting starfish! However, once on the seafloor, something odd in the sea bed caught the eye of two divers.
