John Delaney and Gena Delaney – Together Since 1980

John and Gena Delaney’s life together began in 1979, leading to marriage a year later. Gena, a University of Florida graduate, later pursued a Nursing degree after their first two children were born, working at St Vincent’s Hospital. The family, including four children – Bill, Adrian, Meg, and Jimmy—and five grandchildren, resides in Neptune Beach, Florida, in the house where Gena grew up.

Both joy and tragedy mark their family story; they raised a niece, Rebecca, and nephew, Nathan, after Gena’s sister’s untimely death in 1987. Gena retired from nursing to support John during his tenure as Mayor and to care for their children and her parents.
