John Cornyn and Sandy Hansen – Together Since 1979

In 1977, a pivotal year for John Cornyn, not only did he graduate from St. Mary’s University School of Law in San Antonio, but he also met his future wife, Sandy Hansen, on a blind date. This serendipitous encounter blossomed into a loving partnership, culminating in their marriage on November 17, 1979.

Together, John and Sandy have raised two daughters, Danley and Haley, fostering a family life that, while largely private, has occasionally intersected with public events. Sandy, preferring a life away from the limelight, has nevertheless been a supportive presence in John’s career and life’s significant moments, demonstrating the strength of their bond.
