Reunited

After a few minutes, Faix replied, saying that she had, in fact, had a son in 1982. Once again, Strawn replied with a response that cut right to the heart of the matter: “I think you may be my biological mom.” When Faix told Strawn that she had also been looking for him, the two knew that fate had finally intervened and brought them back together.

Of course, the long-separated mother and son immediately started telling each other about their lives. As Faix wrote about her life, she told Strawn all about how much she enjoyed running with Team Red, White, and Blue. Meanwhile, when Strawn read that his mother would be running in the Pittsburgh Marathon with the team, his jaw dropped to the floor in absolute surprise.
