Trying to Catch Up with the Herd

In the song “Nellie the Elephant,” the herd leader calls out to her from way off in the distance. No clue if that’s what happened here, but one thing was obvious, our mama elephant and her calf had a serious journey ahead if they were going to catch up with the rest of their herd.

Mama probably had the route in her head already, with the jungle sitting right in the middle of the plan. Now that they were back together, they could pick up the pace and try to close the gap sooner rather than later. With fresh resolve and a little jungle trek waiting for them, the two set off. The villagers stood and watched, quietly cheering them on, sure they’d eventually find their way back to their herd.
