A Strange Mystery in Chatra District

The scene played out in Chatra district, roughly 100 miles from Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand, often called the City of Waterfalls. Every year, elephants pass through this region like clockwork, moving as a tight group and keeping to their usual route. So when one elephant suddenly broke away and went solo, people in the area couldn’t help but wonder what was going on.

These giants don’t exactly lose sleep over the forest’s big cats. Their one real worry is people, and for good reason, given the long history of humans hurting them. So was this lone elephant spooked by someone nearby? As the animal’s odd behavior continued, the crowd’s curiosity, and concern, only grew.
