Beth and Marc never hid the fact that they desired a girl after having their second boy. “I’ve always wanted a daughter, and this is just amazing…She is what we prayed for. It felt like winning the lottery,” Beth told People Magazine.

As previously mentioned, Beth and Hadden had experienced some complications with the pregnancy of their first two children, so they had already considered the possibility of adopting a child. In the face of having to struggle through the long and incredibly arduous process of adoption, Gracie appeared like a complete miracle, in more than just the one way.
