Introducing The Subject

While Beth and Marc Hadden consider Gracie their child as much as their two biological children, they never lied to her about her adoption. “We told her pretty much from day one. I’ve taken her to the back of the ambulance where she was born, so she knows – no doubt about it,” Marc told People.

Most importantly, the couple never wanted Gracie to find out about her adoption all at once, in some surprising manner. So, once Gracie was old enough to understand, they slowly and carefully began to introduce the subject. However, it will take time for her to understand completely. “It still breaks my heart to think of one day having to explain it to her more in-depth … because she doesn’t really 100% get it,” Beth said.
