Soon, the memories of the attack and rumors of Photoshop work became too much, and Valeria Lukyanova started to post pictures to prove that she’s a real person underneath it all. While she does not upload them very often, Lukyanova has no problem posting makeup-free pictures displaying her “natural beauty.”

In fact, Lukyanova hopes to inspire other women to do the same, saying she cannot “understand people who are ashamed to be without any makeup on.” As you might suspect, many of her harshest critics claim that even these cosmetics-free images have gone through Photoshop.
