Before The Transformation

Lukyanova did not wake up one day with a desire to become the human Barbie. It was a years-long process, one that started with her modeling career in Mexico. Long before she headed under the knife, Lukyanova understood she could “turn heads.” Still, despite her natural looks, the more the young woman modeled, the more she desired perfect, doll-like proportions. Even the constant compliments of the photographers could not change her mind.

Slowly, over about a year, Lukyanova’s obsession with perfection started taking over her life. Even then, though, the young woman had no idea where her desires would lead.
