Bruce Willis and US Army General Douglas MacArthur

It’s a good thing Douglas MacArthur didn’t Die Hard when he led the U.S. Army in many battles in World War II. That being said, we are sure he was as brave as John McClane, the character MacArthur’s doppelganger, actor Bruce Willis, portrayed in the 1988 film Die Hard.
MacArthur, a pipe-smoking five-star general, certainly saw more action than Willis did while he was leading troops through South Pacific. However, Willis’ fictional military roles have provided him with a slight insight into their lives, so he now frequently works with veteran organizations. He also recently bought 12,000 boxes of Girl Scout cookies for those stationed overseas!
