George Takei and Brad Altman – 35 Years Together

For many, many years, Star Trek fans suspected the actor George Takei, beloved for his role as Mr. Sulu, was gay. However, it wasn’t until 2005 that he finally felt ready to come out – though he doesn’t think of it that way. “It’s not really coming out, which suggests opening a door and stepping through,” Takei explained. “It’s more like a long, long walk through what began as a narrow corridor that starts to widen.”

At the time, Takei also revealed that he had been in a loving relationship for over two decades, to actor Brad Altman. The two married just a few years later, in 2008, and have remained so ever since. Congrats!
