Elizabeth Taylor was famously married eight times, to seven husbands! –she married Richard Burton twice. For those not in the know, Taylor’s first walk down the aisle was to marry Conrad “Nicky” Hilton back in 1950, when she was just 18 years old. Though the marriage didn’t last, her wedding gown went down as one of the most iconic celebrity wedding dresses of all time!

For her big day, Taylor wore a wedding dress designed by MGM costume designer Helen Rose – the same designer who would create Grace Kelly’s famous wedding gown six years later. The satin dress featured long sleeves, a silk gauze off-the-shoulder illusion neckline, and of course, a full skirt!
