Character: Raj Koothrappali

Rajesh “Raj” Koothrappali was born in India, the son of a wealthy gynecologist. He is an astrophysicist who lives in Pasadena and works at Caltech. Despite Raj’s good looks, he has not been lucky love-wise. You see, Raj was unable to talk to women for a long time due to a case of selective mutism. In fact, the astrophysicist used to need a beer in order to talk to women, even his closet friends.

Fortunately, Raj has moved past that phase. What’s more, Raj was even able to get himself a girlfriend named Lucy. Unfortunately, that didn’t turn out so well due to Lucy’s social anxiety. With his moisturizing regime and his love of “girl” flicks and literature, Raj’s metro-sexuality is well documented. In fact, Raj has said he loves both women and their skincare products!
