Fixer Upper – Fake

We know it hurts, but it’s the truth: Fixer Upper is not the most honest show on the air. Most of what you see is real: Joanna and Chip Gaines are a real-life married couple who love renovating old space, lovingly termed “fixer-uppers.” But the show is undoubtedly guilty of making these tasks seem a lot easier, and cheaper, than they actually are.
In the show, the homeowners give Joanna and Chip a budget to stick to at the beginning of the episode. However, sadly for the owners, all that decor and furniture that Joanna picks out every episode does not end up in the budget. This means the homeowners only keep what they want to pay for on top of Chip’s renovations. So, if you’re using Fixer Upper as a guide for your upcoming renovations, you might want to bump up your budget a tad.
