Who can forget when The Weeknd broke out with disco-inspired hits like “Can’t Feel My Face” and “I Feel It Coming,” alongside Daft Punk. However, there’s no doubt that he truly shocked fans when The Weeknd debuted his new look in the music video for his song “Save Your Tears.” In the video, it appeared as though the singer had undergone massive facial surgery, like so many celebrities before him.

Thankfully, the Weeknd quickly let fans know that the look was simply prosthetics and “part of a character.” Over the coming months, the singer would continue to experiment with strange new looks as part of his “character,” all leading up to his explosive performance at the 2021 Super Bowl.
