Hal Holbrook first gained recognition in New York for his outstanding one-man stage show Mark Twain Tonight in the 50s. Shortly afterward, he received a Tony Award for his memorable performance as Twain. However, many do not know that Holbrook actually developed the show when he was just a college student!
Of course, Mark Twain Tonight only started Holbrook’s career! Over the years, Holbrook has also starred in many films like The Fog, Into the Wild, and the Disney hit Hercules.
