Realizing that she could no longer keep her daughter from the truth, Alvera Rita finally gave in. Her face wrinkled up in defeat as she began telling her daughter the truth once and for all. Rita condensed that, for longer than Lukasik had been alive, she had been concealing her true identity from everyone, even her husband. As Rita continued, the happiness completely left her face, leaving a broken woman in front of her daughter.

Meanwhile, as Lukasik listened to her mother’s incredible tale, she realized why she had kept it hidden for so long. As it turned out, Rita was another person entirely underneath all that makeup. It was true – Rita was not caucasian, but actually black!
